Joan Claver was born in Vila-Seca (Tarragona) in 1988. He began his classical music studies at the Vila-seca Professional Conservatory of Music at the age of 6, where he finished his professional degree. During this period he studied with professors Silvia Gil-Pérez, Nuria Ruera, Cecilio Tieles, Ramon Humet among others.
As a pianist, keyboardist and/or bassist he has been part of numerous formations, recordings and tours with projects of different styles as a composer, arranger, performer, co-founder or leader.
In 2009 he received his first Jazz classes with the pianist Jorge Varela. In 2011 he entered the Conservatorio Superior del Liceo to pursue higher studies in jazz piano and modern music with piano teachers Iñaki Sandoval, Albert Bover and Roger Mas and also received classes in other subjects such as Horacio Fumero, Llibert Fortuny, David Mengual and Ramón Prats, among others. In this period he is part of the Big Band of the Liceu under the direction of Sergi Vergès.
In 2015 he established his first trio as leader and composer and released his first album “Triangle”, with Pedro Campos on double bass and Jose Benítez on drums. The album is published by the Barcelona label Fresh Sound New Talent.
